My name is James. I would like to take this time to tell you a few things about The British Model Alliance. Me and my experience.
I contacted The British Model Alliance couple of months ago. It suck in my head because it was about a month until my wife (Claire) and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary!
I had always known modelling was something she always wanted to try…so I sent in a couple of images.
I met Claire when I was only 16; she has been the love of my life, and the mother of all 3 of my children. I saw an advert saying they needed models of ages and sizes. This was the opportunity Claire had always deserved.
I remember she had done a few small shoots when she was around 18/19. However then life happens and she was pregnant soon after. When I think back now I wish she had gone for it (I would of looked after the kids) but times were hard and I was the main breadwinner.
After having a lovely chat with Rose on the phone and explaining it was me who had really applied on Claire’s behalf I booked her in for a test shoot day – I knew she would be thrilled!
I sat down a couple of weeks before so she could prepare, and helped choose outfits and hairstyles. She was excited and nervous but I made sure she understood from the get go that it was a yes or no decision on the day.
All I can really say is she loved it.
Just looking at the biggest smile from her face all day made me realise how much she wanted this. Working one on one with a photographer made everything more relaxed and she got some amazing photos. I of course wanted to keep them all but more importantly she had a fantastic portfolio to start a job she really should of done years ago.
Thank you for reading my story/ experience and a big thank you to the team at BMA and Glass studio for making our day unforgettable for all the right reasons…it really is never too late.
